This month I decided to participate in Get Your Chef On which is hosted by White Lights on Wednesday and Four Marrs and One Venus. When I saw that the theme for this month was peanut butter, which is one of my favorite ingredients, I knew I had to make a dessert. Since I can't seem to eat peanut butter without chocolate, I decided to make something that included the two.
These Peanut Butter Bars are great and are so easy to make. I love no bake recipes because you can make them really quickly and don't have to worry about dealing with waiting for the recipe to bake. You do have to wait for the chocolate to cool, but these can be put in the freezer for about 10 minutes to quickly cool the melted chocolate. These are a great snack that can be made in a matter of minutes!
No Bake Peanut Butter Bars
(Recipe from Let's Dish)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/4 cups peanut butter
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. In a medium bowl mix the butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and one cup of peanut butter until combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
2. Place the chocolate chips in a small microwavable bowl and melt the chocolate for 45 seconds or until done in the microwave. Once melted, stir in the remaining peanut butter until it is combined. Spread the chocolate layer over the peanut butter layer. Freeze for 10 minutes or refrigerate for one hour to cool.
