Frozen Reese's Peanut Butter Pie

Make sure that you check out the giveaway that I am currently hosting for My Memories Suite Scrapbooking Software.  It ends on June 4.

If you have read my blog before, you know that chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite dessert combination, or maybe just any flavor combination.

I think this pie tops all of those other recipes, and that is saying a lot.  My husband and I both love peanut butter pie, but this just ups it a notch.  First off is the peanut butter oreo crust, then the peanut butter filling contains chopped Reese's, then it is all frozen and more chopped Reese's are added as a topping.  Yum!

This pie was so delicious, it was the best peanut butter pie I have ever had. Since this is frozen, it is a great treat for summer.  I made this for Memorial Day and the frozen pie was a great treat on a really hot day.  The filling was really good when it wasn't frozen as well, so this could be made frozen or just refrigerated.

This pie is easy to make and so delicious.  If you like chocolate and peanut butter you have to try this pie!

Frozen Reese's Peanut Butter Pie

1 package (15.25 ounces) Peanut Butter Creme Oreos, crushed
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 can (14 ounce can) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tub (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
5 regular size Reese's packages, chopped (the one with 2 full size Reese's per package or 10 regular full size Reese's total)

1.  Take the crushed Peanut Butter Creme Oreos and mix with the melted butter in a pie plate.  Press the crust into the bottom of the pie plate.

2.  In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and powdered sugar.  Beat on medium until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.

3.  Gently fold in the Cool Whip until fully combined. Then gently add 3 packages worth of chopped Reese's (a total of 6 full size Reese's).  Add the mixture on top of the Oreo crust.

4.  Cover and freeze until firm.  If needed this can be frozen overnight.  When ready to eat defrost for 10-15 minutes before eating.  Add the other 2 packages of chopped Reese's (4 full size Reese's) to the top as a garnish.

  26. Does this pie have to be kept frozen after it is set? I don't care for frozen pie and also have limited freezer space. It looks delicious.

    1. This doesn't have to be frozen. It tasted really good before I even froze it, so I think if you just put it in the fridge to set, and you could eat it that way.

  32. Is it possible to make home made whipped cream instead of using cool whip? I just wonder how much heavy cream would be needed to make 8 ounces.

    1. I haven't tried it with homemade whipped cream, but I'm sure it would taste great. Kraft's website says that there are 3 cups of whipped cream in a 8 ounce container. This recipe for whipped cream states that 1 cups of heavy whipping cream makes about 2 cups of whipped cream: http://thegreenbacksgal.com/a-recipe-to-impress-your-friends-homemade-whipped-cream/. For this recipe you would most likely need about 1.5 cups of heavy whipping cream to make the 3 cups of whipped cream. I hope that you enjoy it. Let me know how it is with the homemade whipped cream!
